Jix is a Kickstarter success story. Conceived by French-born visual artist Patrick Martinez in 2012, Jix is a modular connector that lets anyone turn conventional drinking straws into sculptures simply by joining them together. Build anything from small table-top structures to stadium-sized installations, highly geometric constellations to free-form organic webs. Great for children motivated to exercise their imaginations and equally great for grownups who want to do the same.
Made in the USA of post-consumer plastic. Comes 125 to a pack. Connectors work with standard diameter straws (US) in any color or length. A single package will typically utilize 200 to 250 straws. Straws not included in package.
Patrick Martinez studied art in France and has been exploring video, drawing, sculpture, installation and sound art for over twenty years. His work has been exhibited throughout Europe as well as in Japan and the US, where he is represented by Parker's Box Gallery.
